Mělník, the royal dowry town at the confluence of the Elbe and the Vltava River, invites you not only for wine from the local vineyards, but also for a walk through the historical centre, on the view from the Gothic tower of the St. Peter and Paul or to visit the Mělník underground with the widest well in the Czech Republic. Throughout the year, you can enjoy some of the many events that take place in the town.

The Royal Town of Kolín is located about 60 km east of Prague. It has a rich history and is currently the centre of the region's successful development. The City Monument Reservation allows visitors to view a comprehensive set of monuments. Kolín dominates the church of St. Bartholomew, whose construction was attended by the outstanding architect Petr Parléř. Remarkable are Jewish monuments that prove the long-standing existence and importance of the local Jewish community. In addition to the numerous early medieval and early modern age buildings, there are also valuable architectural achievements. Those interested in technical monuments can enjoy a ride by a small beet train that reminds of the city's industrial development.

Nymburk is the town of monuments, cultural life, greenery, sport and can offer its visitors a lot. In the town you can admire the beauty of historic buildings or dream and walk through it, just like the writer Bohumil Hrabal, who has spent his childhood here with his family. Hiking fans, skaters and cyclists like to use the cycle path along the Elbe. You can spend rest, for example, in the area of Přístav and enjoy the romantic walls or refresh with Nymburk beer.

In our region, the nature with history is perfectly complemented. The Renaissance Březnice attracted poets and novelists, and the famous names of the Czech Baroque art appeared. Walking through the town of Březnice will take you to a Renaissance chateau with an English park, on the square to the church of St. Ignatius and St. Franzis with a former Jesuit college and a Jewish ghetto with a synagogue. Revitalized centre invites you to a pleasant stay, to refresh yourself with traditional local Herold beer. Březnice is also a place of great cultural and social events.

Nižbor village is located about 8 km northwest of Beroun. There are two smaller villages belonging to the village, namely Žloukovice and Stradonice, which are famous throughout the archaeological world due to the remains of Celtic settlement and the discovery of golden bowl-shaped coins. All three villages forming the Nižbor are located in the Křivoklátsko PLA,  on Rakovník-Beroun railway line and the river Berounka flows through them. The dominant feature of Nižbor itself is the castle, originally an early Gothic castle, which is owned by the village. In its section there is the Information Center of Celtic Culture. Celebration of Celtic holidays is held here twice a year. Through the courtyard of the castle passes the 14th meridian and under the castle there is the intersection of this meridian and 50 parallels. The Rückl Crystal, a.s. glasshouse, which can be visited, is also located in the village.

The unique city, founded by Plichta of Žerotín in 1322, is the centre of the area that lies in the western part of the Central Bohemian region at the intersection of the Křivoklát forests, Český Kras and Podbrdsko, in the sight of the castles Točník and Žebrák. The town offers countless cultural events and opportunities to spend active leisure time. The tourist destination, which is currently gaining more and more visitors, is a Baroque castle. A number of new cultural experiences are offered by the Old Castle Complex, where you can visit the Gallery, the Library, the Information Centre and the newly established Hořovice Museum, which brings the history of the town. In the nearby region, clean nature and deep untouched forests have been preserved. The town is relatively well accessible and can thus be the starting point for the newly established Brdy PLA. Hořovice was famous for its production of musical instruments, the foundry and the printing industry.

Mladá Boleslav - a city not only of cars

More than a thousand years of history has embellished the face of the city with a number of unique monuments, which are definitely worth seeing - The Gallery under the Tower is located in the newly renovated premises of the Old Town Hall building on Old Town Square. The exhibition grounds and the observation tower have a common entrance from the arcade at the threshold of Old Town Square. The Town Palace of the Temple is one of the oldest preserved buildings in Mladá Boleslav and according to the legend it was built for the order of the Templars. At present there is a multimedia museum exposition. An interactive archaeological playground for children is built on the area Na Parkánu.

The Unity of Bohemian Brethren is an important monument of the city and is one of the oldest Renaissance pseudo basilicas outside Italy. Today there is an exhibition and concert hall in the building.

The favorite castle of Karel Hynek Mácha over the romantic Jizera valley, with a beautiful view from the tower called Putna, which is now visibly inclined thanks to the treasure hunters and the railway under the castle. From 2015, there is a summer scene on the grounds, where cultural programs (concerts, theatres) are held.

Historical and industrial town with an impressive mixture of Gothic monuments and top functionalist buildings from the era of modern Rakovník in the first half of the 20th century. The history of the town is represented by the Museum of T. G. M., in the former synagogue there is an exhibition of paintings by V. Rabas, in the timbered house Lechnýřovna exhibition of puppets. Rakovník was famous for its production of beer, soaps and tiles RAKO. Many personalities were born or worked in Rakovník, among them writer Z. Winter, singers Burian brothers and actor Z. Štěpánek.

The town with almost 17 000 inhabitants with parts of Lobkovice, Mlekojedy, Byškovice, Korycany and Horňátky, situated in the beautiful countryside of the Polabí lowland, belongs to the youngest towns in our country. Neratovice is closely associated with one of the greatest personalities of our history - politician, philosopher and historian František Palacký, who spent most of his creative time at the Lobkowitz Chateau. Although Neratovice is a modern, industrially connected town, it has a lot of charms. Panel construction intersects with villas and pine forests, the main square passes one of the railway tracks.

Less than 40 kilometres southeast of Prague, in the direction of the Sázava river, between Konopiště and Jemniště chateaux is situated the town of Benešov. In the center of the town lies the historical part of Karlov. In Malé náměstí is an Art Nouveau building of Museum of Art and Design, where the Podblanicko Museum is also located. The town of Benešov and the nearby Konopiště Chateau interconnects small city's tourist eco-train, whose trail runs around the most interesting monuments in Benešov to Konopiště and back. Enjoy a day trip in Benešov with children and head to the treasure hunt "Honey for a Bear". At tourist centre on Masaryk Square, pick up the game plan which will guide you through a nature trail with interesting tasks. In 2015, underground passages called EXPERIMENTA were opened in the city centre. Exposure of this underground will take you to the world of music and lights through interactive installations.

In Votice you will find a number of historical monuments, and in their surroundings preserved nature, ideal for walking or cycling trips. In the city you can visit the monastery of St. Francis of Assisi, a copy of God's grave, or an old Jewish cemetery. With children you can head to the unique Butterfly world. A view of the city from the bird perspective is offered by the observation tower Václavka. Nature Trail Around Votice for exploration and biking trails called Votice Kopretina will take you to the most interesting places in the area.

The town of Český Brod can be found 35 km east of Prague and lies on the main railway line Prague - Kolín. With its three localities, Zahrady, Liblice and Štolmíř is the second largest town in the Kolín district and the center of the predominantly agricultural area. It has over 7 000 inhabitants. It is a royal town with a rich and varied history offering not only interesting building monuments referring to the time of both ancient and recent but also lively social life. People living in local societies, schools and other organizations organize cultural and sporting events throughout the year in cooperation with the town Thanks to its excellent transport accessibility, the Českobrodsko and the Pošembeří region attracts for walks and cycling through the flat countryside to the Polabí and to the more diverse terrain of Kostelecko, Kouřimsko and Jevansko towards Sázava.

The royal mining town of Příbram is located at the foot of Brdy, 60 km southwest of Prague. The oldest written document about Příbram dates back to 1216. Příbram became famous for its past mining history. The former glory of Příbram mining is reminiscent by the national cultural monument Mining Museum Příbram, which is the largest mining museum in the Czech Republic due to the number of exhibitions. The dominant feature of the town is the Baroque temple of Svatá Hora, which represents the most important and oldest Marian pilgrimage site in Bohemia. The historic building of the Chateau-Ernestin is home to the František Drtikol Gallery with an exhibition of world-renowned photographer. Active recreation for children and adults is offered by the Nový rybník area.

A small town located in the westernmost corner of the Central Bohemian region offers activities for tourism fans, who can admire numerous natural monuments (boulder, flooded quarries, etc.) in stunning countryside, stoned stones (Petrohrad ruins) and in the summer months to use local bathing ponds. Everything is pleasantly complemented by an offer of interesting cultural and sporting events.

The city spread along both banks of the River Labe is a natural regional centre in the area of  middle Polabí. Historically significant cities were merged into one administrative unit in 1960, creating the city with the longest name in the republic – Brandýs nad Labem-Stará Boleslav. Brandýs nad Labem is connected with the imperial and royal traditions of the Czech lands and the castle of the same name in its centre, one of the most renowned Renaissance monuments in Central Bohemia, is firmly connected with the mainstream of Czech history. Stará Boleslav is the place of the beginnings of the Czech statehood and the Stará Boleslav temples, consecrated to the Christian tradition of St. Wenceslas and Maria, have the status of national cultural monuments. The city is surrounded by floodplain forests and water areas suitable for recreation, it is popular as a cruise destination and offers many opportunities for sports and cycling.

The historical town of Jílové lies less than 20 km south of Prague. It is located 3 km from the right bank of the river Sázava, surrounded by a massive hillside, which together with the valley of the river forms one of the most beautiful places in the vicinity of Prague, suitable especially for recreation and relaxation. The still preserved nature has been associated with the history of the old town. For over 650 years, the city has been dubbed the "Royal Goldsmith".

Village Karlštejn is located about 30 km southwest of Prague. It is situated on the banks of the river Berounka in the Český Kras Protected Landscape Area. The village remained for a long time in the shadow of the castle, even though it was founded at the same time. The original name, identical to the name of the castle, changed in the 15th century in Budy, according to the homes where the native inhabitants lived. Since the 18th century it has been named Budňany. Since 1952 everything has returned to the original name Karlštejn. Since 23 January 2007, the Parliament of the Czech Republic has determined the village of Karlštejn by municipality.

The town of Lysá nad Labem is located in the district of Nymburk in the Central Bohemia Region and has about 9,000 inhabitants. It is situated in a fertile lowland on the River Elbe, 30 km northeast of the capital city of Prague. The historic core of the city was declared an urban conservation are to other regions a in 2003. The town location allows hiking and unforgettable cycling to other regions and is also suitable for families with children.  At present, Lysá nad Labem is known mainly by the Exhibition Center, which organizes during the year a number of thematic exhibitions. Lysá surroundings offer interesting and beautiful excursions, for example, there is a natural open-air museum in Přerov nad Labem, the picturesque village of Byšičky, built in the circular shape or medieval village built by Botanicus in the village Ostrá. 

The Royal town of Slaný lies less than 30 kilometres northwest of Prague. It is ideally situated for all-day trips to visitors from all over Central Bohemia and the capital. It is literally surrounded by a number of interesting places. The town itself will offer a number of cultural monuments (Municipal Theatre, Velvary Gate, Museum of National History), nature educative trails (hill Slánská hora, Háje Forest Park) or sporting activities (multipurpose sports hall with swimming pool, speedway stadium). Quite exceptional is the Museum of salt boxes, in the collection is also the largest salt box in the world, which can hold up to 40 kg of salt.

At the foot of the Brdy ridges, half an hour away from Prague, yet in the stillness of nature, is located Mníšek pod Brdy, Lážov from stories of Kája Mařík. The pearl of the town is the Baroque area Skalka with a church of St. Mary Magdalene, which you will see from far away. You may also be tempted to visit the chateau, the church of St. Wenceslas or some of the many local cafes or restaurants. The town and a number of local clubs all year round host various cultural events that you are cordially invited to.

Benátky nad Jizerou were built at the crossroads of ancient roads. The first written mention dates from 1052. The ruin of Dražice Castle is reminiscent of the famous family of the Dražice lords, which owned Benátky in the 13th and 14th centuries. The medieval town was founded around 1345. A rich history is evidenced by a number of monuments, as is the exhibition of the regional museum and toy museum in the castle. In addition to the walks in the castle complex, in the parks and in the countryside, the city also offers the possibility of sports.

The town of Kralupy nad Vltavou invites you to a pleasant day full of fun, sport, but also active rest. In summer, try a modern swimming pool that is renowned for its water attractions, lots of greenery and friendly staff. During the winter months, you can relax in the jacuzzi or in the herbal sauna in the new wellness centre. If you love history, head to the city museum or see baby prams from the time of the First Republic. You can also sit for a moment next to the statue of Josef Švejk, whose look will surely make you smile on your face.

Kutná Hora - the treasure chest full of enjoyment is waiting for you not far from Prague! The silver jewel among Czech cities has been on UNESCO's World Heritage List for more than 23 years.

The town of Mnichovice is located in the Central Bohemian Region, Prague-East, southeast of Prague. The first historical mention of Mnichovice dates back to 1134, when the Abbot of the Sázava Monastery founded the Basilica of St. Michael. In the square there is the Church of Our Lady with a beautiful pulpit in the form of a whale with a muzzle open and several golden scales.

Close to the center is Zitt's Mill, which is a very valuable preserved documentary of folk architecture and miller's equipment from the mid-17th century, including a functional milling wheel.

Another interesting attraction is Žižka's Oak, about 800 years old. It is one of the oldest trees in Central Bohemia

In addition to the sights, the city organizes regular cultural and tourist events. Among the most visited ones are the march of the footsteps of Mikeš cat, which takes place regularly every September. You can choose from 4 routes from 9km to 32km.

Also known is the Marian pilgrimage, which was also commemorated by the fairy-tale cat Mikeš, along with the piggy Pašek and the goat Bobeš from the famous book „Mikeš" from Josef Lada. Sports fans can use the Šibeniční vrch area, which also offers night skiing.

For lovers of hiking there is a beautiful sightseeing trail, which connects three villages. The route is about 9 km long and includes 9 stops with interesting places and spectacular views of the region

The history of Poděbrady dates back to prehistoric times, long before the beginnings of the Czech state. A long-distance trade route from Prague to eastern Bohemia and on to Silesia and Poland passed through the then forested landscape interwoven with a dense network of river arms. This important road crossed the Elbe River to the west of today's town at the place called Na vinici.

An ancient settlement and a small guard fortress were built near the ford. It is probable that the location of the place is reflected in the present name of the town "pod ford" - Poděbrady.

The Poděbrady estate flourished most during the reign of the Lords of Kunštát, who acquired it from Charles IV as a so-called "noble fief". The most important figure of this family was Jiří of Poděbrady, who was elected King of Bohemia in 1458. This outstanding diplomat (sometimes referred to as the Hussite king) was the first European politician to attempt to establish a peaceful union of European monarchs. Under his orders, Poděbrady was made a city in 1472 and endowed with important rights, privileges and a city emblem.

The year 1905 was a historical milestone in the life of the town. The German landowner von Bülow visited the prince. This well-known dowser marked the site of a strong spring in the inner courtyard, which was then actually drilled at a depth of 96.7 metres. The discovery of the mineral carbonated water caused the first spa season to start here in 1908. After the end of the First World War, the town quickly turned into a spa town, with a spa specialising in the treatment of heart and vascular diseases from 1926. It quickly gained fame not only at home, but also far abroad.

Since 2013, the exhibition of painter, musician, writer and ethnographer has been placed in a former Jesuit college building next to St. Ignatius and St. Francis church. It presents paintings with South Bohemian motifs, portrait, figural and landscape paintings. The permanent exhibition is completed with period furniture. In the art salon there are also pictures of other authors from the city collection: Anna Sequensová, J. R.Schuster, B.Ullrych, A.Moravec.

Puppetry at Breznice area

The permanent exhibition of museum pays tribute to puppet artist Arnošta Kopecká, who was the granddaughter of one of the most famous Czech puppeteers Matěj Kopecký and is buried in a cemetery in Březnice. In Březnice the rich tradition of puppetry was recorded even after her death. The exhibited puppets, backdrops and accessories of the theatres belonged to societies Sokol and Orel. Small children have the opportunity to play themselves with puppets in simple theatre scenes.

Town with a rich offer of cultural and tourist activities - Anderle Gallery, Motorcycles Museum Fulfilled Dream, hiking trail to lookout tower on Senecká mountain. Pavlíkov is located 60 km west of Prague. It is a place for a gorgeous daylong trip - from 2014 there is a gallery and a permanent exhibition of artworks and African collections of the world-renowned artist Jiří Anderle (native of Pavlíkov). Also unique is the Motorcycles Museum Fulfilled Dream and since 2015 is available new observation tower built according to the project of architect Točík.

The Podbrdsko Museum can be found in the historical heart of the city in the newly renovated factory complex. The museum offers the following expositions: Exhibition of the Lords of Rožmitál, How was the life in Podbrdsko, Memorial of J.J. Ryba and Christmas Mass, Exhibition of Historical Cars AERO, Museum of Fire Brigade. Part of the museum is a gallery and barn with old agricultural tools, a functional nail workshop and carpenter, an exposition of cast iron. The entire modern museum complex is barrier-free, friendly to families with children and school excursions, the expositions contain interactive features, at the museum you find children's playground and a small look-out tower.

The original wooden fortress was replaced by a stone building around 1300. At the end of the 15th and 16th centuries, the fortress was modified in late Gothic and Renaissance style, completed with an economic building and closed by walls. 

The museum's exposition introduces the visitor to the archaeological findings of the region from the period of the Stone Age to the Modern Age. Natural science exhibition presents a lively and inanimate nature of middle river ElbeI. In addition to permanent expositions, the museum brings its visitors a number of interesting short-term exhibitions, lectures and concerts.

The Cultural Centre promotes cultural and social life in the city, organizes and provides public cultural services. It is operated as a contributory organization of the town of Hořovice. The Centre includes a Library, Information centre, Social House, Elbe Musical Theatre Club and Old Castle Gallery

Culture of the city Mlada Boleslav

Company Culture Mladá Boleslav was founded in 2007 by merging of several municipal organizations: the House of Culture, the Cultural Centre World, the Temple Palace, the Choir of Czech Brethren and the Infocentre. Many culture events are situated there during a year.

We invite you to visit places that have been recorded in the history of the world. Annihilation of Lidice and the suffering of its citizens, who on 10th June 1942 became the victims of Nazi violence aroused thousands of people worldwide.. After the war there was a large architectural competition and according to the plans of the architects František Marek, Václav Hilský, Richard Podzemný and Antonín Tenzer, the field was replaced in the place of the destroyed Lidice in a dignified relic object and the new Lidice

In the exhibition "... and the innocent were guilty ..." you will learn the details of the tragedy. The latest exposition "We build new Lidice" in the family house no. 116 presents the determination of the people who hoped for the end of the war and collected the money for the reconstruction of Lidice.

Art lovers will be surprised by the quality of the collection of the so-called Lidice collections presented at the new Lidice exhibition Remember Lidice.

National Cultural Monument The Mining Museum of Příbram is the largest mining museum in the Czech Republic and one of the largest in Europe. It offers guided tours of the mysterious underground of silver mines, rides by small mining trains, sophisticated steam mining machines, wonderful mineral collections, and many other unforgettable experiences for both small and large visitors.

Organizes and completely provides cultural and social events in Benesov and the Konopiště Natural Theatre. for the realization of the events, he uses the premises of Karlov and the Municipal Theatre At the Post. Our company includes the management of CIC Benešov and CIC Konopiště. He is the publisher of the monthly Benešov City Hall News. Not only for the inhabitants of the city, it prepares various events - theatre performances for children and adults, balls, concerts of classical and popular music, Christmas concerts, children's musical performances as well as outdoor events in the city centre, such as Benešov City Live, Benešov Fair, Benešov Feast, Benešov Advent, and also traditional farmer markets.

The Museum of Art and Design in Benešov is located in the city centre in the Art Nouveau building of the former District savings bank, built by the regional builder Marcel Dusil, which is now undergoing extensive reconstruction. Among the important components of the museum collection are collector's collection of art works by the historian Doc. PhDr. Jiří Šetlík, CSc. or almost complete collection of works by Zdeněk Kirchner containing almost all of his work. These ensembles will be gradually presented this year in newly renovated museum expositions. The museum also hosts short-term exhibitions focused mainly on regional art in the City Exhibition Hall. Do not forget to explore the underground beneath the Benešov Town Hall. You will find there the Experimenta, an interactive space full of lighting and sound installations by Jiří Suchánek. There are for example, Electric Pool, Rainbow Egg or Infinity.

The museum is housed in a building of a former Capuchin monastery, originally a burgher house from the second half of the 14th century. A unique exposition of historic prams or an exposition of regional history and nature can be visited here. A smaller part of the space is devoted to the Czech winery. Gothic cellars are also accessible. There is also a long-term exhibition of the history of the small railway with the Merkur kit. The museum offers tasting Czech wines in Gothic cellars or in the café. From May to September it is possible to visit a rocky apartment in Lhotka near Mělník.

The Regional Museum in Jílové u Prahy specializes in the history of mining and processing of gold with a focus on the medieval gold ore district. The main exhibition Gold in the Czech Republic, whose external part consists of three unique historical mining galleries, namely St. Josef, St. Anthony of Padua and Halíře gallery. In the museum, visitors can also see the excursions of the tramping and nature of Posázaví, the exhibition of Ora et labora, dedicated to Ostrovský monastery and the extinct medieval town of Sekanka. From April 2018, a new exhibition of History in the Glitter of Gold is opened, which will bring to light the modern history of Jílové town.

Come to the castle in Mladá Boleslav to play the museum curator and install your own exhibition. Try your skills at the restoration workshop. Get new knowledge and attainments in the expositions about the history of Mladá Boleslav or about the former life in the countryside and take a computer duel with the wood- worm Alfred. Enjoy the beauty of the Baroque sculpture on a long-term exhibition of the work of the family workshop Jelínek from Kosmonosy. In the spring do not forget to spend the night at the Castle Museum and the time of Advent to join the Journey to Bethlehem. During the year a few new short-term exhibitions are waiting for you. The museum is open all year round, six days a week except Mondays.

In the main building of the Museum of Polabí in Poděbrady, the visitors of the permanent exhibition The Story of Polabí will get to know the Mesozoic sea, the life of the people in the local landscape during the Bronze and Roman times and during the migration of nations. Part of the exposition is dedicated to the Slavníkovci fortification on the nearby Libice or the Baroque and Renaissance period in Poděbrady. The story of Polabí ends with the history of Poděbrady glassmaking and spa tourism, which is connected with the development of the town of Poděbrady in the first half of the 20th century. Two exhibition halls serve for presentations of short-term expositions. The neighbouring protected, former baroque  hospital called Kunhuta is also used for chamber exhibitions.

Within the premises of the Nižbor Chateau, the Centre of the Celtic Culture was founded in 2004 with the support of the Central Bohemian Region. It informs visitors not only of the rich history and skills of the Celts, but also of the latest archaeological rescue research in Central Bohemia. Primary schools can also use The Prehistoric Story and the Story of Archaeology tutorials. Adult and children's visitors will appreciate the annual celebrations of the important Celtic holidays Beltain and Samhain. The Information Centre of Celtic Culture is run by staff of the Institute of Archaeological Monument Care in Central Bohemia in the season from May to October.

The Antonín Dvořák Monument is located in the neo-Renaissance chateau in Vysoká u Příbrami. It is surrounded by the beautiful Brdy countryside with the Rusalka lake and many other attractions in the area. The exhibition of the museum is devoted to Antonín Dvořák - his life, work and residence in Vysoké, and also the personalities of Count Václav Kounice and his wife Josefina Čermáková.

The Gallery of the Central Bohemian Region (GASK) is located in Kutná Hora in the former Jesuit college and is an institution focused on its collection and exhibition program for art of the 20th and 21st centuries. In the premises of three tracts on two floors of the Jesuit College, there are variable exhibitions and there is also a permanent exhibition of the States of mind / Behind the image. The institution functions as a multicultural centre that strives to be as open as possible to all visitors. This idea is supported mainly by the GASK Lecturer Centre.

Children's playgrounds and a climbing wall inspired by image of Piet Mondrian are very popular.

The Central Bohemian Museum in Roztoky near Prague is housed in a Renaissance chateau rebuilt from a Gothic fortress. We can find here a Renaissance hall with a painted beamed ceiling and torsionally preserved wall paintings, a Gothic bay chapel in the so-called Historical Hall. Visitors can see the exhibition " Manor maintenance or how the regent lived and worked" or "Life in the summer resort ". Interesting is also the Zdenka Braunerova Studio - a permanent exhibition of Czech painter, graphic artist, book artist and organizer of artistic and cultural events, located in an authentic building.

Museum Podblanicko is located in the chateau in Vlašim. The local expositions of the Castle Parks and the History of the Chateau, the Auersperg, the Mirror of the Past and the Mystery of the Cellars document the historical development and nature of Podblanice. Unique exposition With the exact slug shows  the Sellier & Bellot development and history of firearms.  Other interesting expositions devoted to the history of the region and to the music are available at the Branch of the Museum in the House No. 74 in Benešov and in the Růžkovy Lhotice Chateau

Museum of the Czech Karst is located in the Jenštejn House, the historically most precious burgher house in Beroun. Expositions devoted to the history and natural wealth of the area, unique is the outdoor exhibition Geopark Barrandien. There are also regionally oriented expositions at branches in the Old Castle in Hořovice (Museum of Hořovicko) and in the town of Žebrák, where the Gallery of Jaroslav Hněvkovský, painter of India is located.

Sládeček National Museum in Kladno is located in the former director's villa of the Prague Ironworks Company, where permanent exhibitions are installed. They are devoted to the development of Kladensko area from prehistory to the end of the 19th century, when Kladno became the royal mining city. The Museum is also part of the Mining Museum Mayrau in Vinařice and the national cultural monument Budeč near Zákolany with the oldest building in the Czech Republic with rotunda St. Peter and Paul.

The Regional Museum in Kolín has an exhibition in three historic buildings - the Veigert House on Karlovo Square, the Červinkovský House and the Dvořák Museum of Prehistory in the premises of the Church of St. Bartholomew at Brandlova Street. The Museum of folk buildings in Kouřim is the only supraregional oriented open-air museum in the Czech Republic. The museum also includes the Museum of Kouřim area in Kouřim and the Podlipanské Museum in Český Brod.

The Czech Silver Museum in Kutná Hora is one of the oldest and richest museums in the Czech Republic. In its collection fund there are a number of world-renowned monuments, especially in the field of geology and medieval mining and coinage. Its permanent exhibition, supplemented annually by a number of exhibitions and other cultural events, is housed in important historical buildings - Hrádek, Kamenný house and so-called Tyl house. They are mainly focused on mining, metallurgy, coinage, history and culture of the royal town of Kutná Hora and regional history. One of the sightseeing tours of Hrádek is a visit to the authentic medieval silver mine.

T.G. M. Museum Rakovník manages several museum buildings. The most prominent is the TG Masaryk Museum in Lány, which represents the personality of the first Czechoslovak president Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, his family and historical events connected with his person. The Branch in Nové Strašecí maps a significant Celtic settlement in the region, which is famous for the find of the most beautiful marlite head of the Celt. Other buildings include Jesenice Museum of Natural History, Joachim Barrand Monument in Skryje, and in Rakovnik the baroque house of Cistercians and medieval gates.

Karel Čapek Memorial in Stará Huť near Dobříš presents the personality and work of the writer Karel Čapek, his wife, actress and writer Olga Scheinpflugová, and journalist Ferdinand Peroutka.

In the Empire House Na Strži, as Karel Čapek named his summer residence, literary works were also created. Here Čapek welcomed a number of personalities of Czech culture and politics, especially in the summer of 1938.

The Rabas Gallery in Rakovník is housed in several buildings with a rich history. The main permanent exhibition, which maps the life work of the painter Václav Rabas, is located in the original house of the Jewish community with a synagogue with a remarkable realistic depiction of the Old Testament scenes in the cartouche above the windows. The Gallery specializes in its exhibitions and shows mainly on the contemporary painting and creation of regional artists from the Central Bohemia Region.

The Regional Museum Prague-East is located in the center of Brandýs nad Labem-Stará Boleslav in the so-called Arnoldinovský house, the exhibition is also in the Brandýs hangman house. It also manages other buildings: Memorial of Josef Lada and his daughter Alena in Hrusice, Memorial of national oppression and resistance in Panenské Břežany, and also picturesque castle Jenštejn in the centre of the same village.

The founder of this organisation is the town of Poděbrady. The Municipal Cultural Centre Poděbrady provides programmes and operation of the Theatre Na Kovárně and the Chateau Biograph. It also organises cultural and social events in the town. It is located in the first courtyard of Poděbrady Castle.

Mělník Cultural Centre (Mekuc) provides a rich cultural program and tourist services. Masaryk's cultural house offers a wide range of theatre performances, concerts, films and other programs. In the gallery and café in the Tower you can admire works of art and enjoy the atmosphere of medieval fortification with good coffee. Tourist information centre offers, among others -.the tour of Mělník underground and the unique medieval wells. Mekuc is involved in the organization of many cultural and social events in the historical centre of the city. Monastery of St. Francis of Assisi was founded in 1627 by Count Sezima of Vrtba. Its current appearance dates from the second half of the 18th century. While visiting the monastery, we will introduce you to the history of the monastery, the life of the Franciscans, and the events associated with the battle of nearby Jankov (Jankow 1645), when the monastery served as a haven for the local inhabitants. Explore the chapel of the monastery with Marian frescoes, a former library and a monastery dining room with unique stucco decorations. You can also visit the Gallery od Sacred Art.

The Ctěnice Castle Complex is located on the northeastern outskirts of Prague, close to the Central Bohemian Region. Ctěnice Castle was built in the middle of the 16th century by Mikuláš Hrzán of Harasov, on the site of the original Gothic fortress, whose history dates back to 1372. The fort was protected by swampy meadows and a moat carved in a rock. In the second half of the 18th century, the Windischgrätz family had rebuilt the Renaissance chateau in the style of the classicist Baroque to its present form. The entrance tower is preserved and on the first floor of the castle there are valuable interiors with painted decoration from late Gothic fragments, Renaissance and Baroque wall paintings. In 1993 Ctěnice Castle was transferred to the capital of Prague. In 2012, the Museum of the City of Prague was entrusted with its administration.

In the adult department, you can borrow not only fiction but also educational science from all disciplines. In the children's department we lend not only books, but also board games, speech aids and children have the opportunity to participate in interesting events that we organize for them. For schools we offer lectures on various topics. In the study, we have dictionaries, encyclopaedias, and literature specializing in art. We also mediate interlibrary borrowing, ie if we do not have a book in our fund, we will lend it to the reader from another library. The regional department leases the literature relating to Kolín and the former district of Kolín. There is also a regional database of celebrities with some links to Kolín. The reading room offers over 60 magazine titles, and audiobooks can also be borrowed by readers.

The Central Bohemian Science Library in Kladno is one of fourteen regional libraries operating in the Czech Republic. It was originally founded in 1897. It lends books, magazines and other documents from the Universal Library, provides information services, provides access to electronic information resources and creates databases with information about the Central Bohemian Region. In its fund, it holds almost 900,000 library units.

The tower construction was completed in 1930 according to the project Ing. Hráský and F. Janda. After the war, the reservoir ceased to perform its function. In 2010, the water tower, which is a high-quality technical and architectural monument, was declared by the Ministry of Culture as an immovable cultural monument. Between 2014 and 2015, the city of Kolín carried out a reconstruction. Nowadays, the former waterworks serve as a publicly accessible lookout tower, which besides the view itself offers tourists thematic expositions, direct access to the former water reservoir and many tips for other attractions.

The classicist house, called Lechnýřovna, underwent a complete reconstruction in 2011-2012. At present, there is an exhibition of puppets and an exhibition of the history of Rakovník culture. Part of the housee is designed to hold interesting exhibitions. The attic serves as a children's playroom and often to organize chamber cultural events. In the courtyard is a pleasant stay for theater and performances, marts, concerts or art workshops.

"On the Okoř there is a way like none of the hundreds ..." The famous song is not entirely true: the path leading to Okoř Castle is not particularly exceptional. But the castle itself and its surroundings, are very nice and hundreds of visitors who arrive here in the warmer months just confirm this. Okoř has several advantages that make it the real number one among the sightseeing destinations around Prague. It is mainly the proximity of the capital city, a wide range of services for tourists and the ideal slightly hilly landscape for cyclists. The castle is the centrepiece of its region - a place where various events take place in the summer months: concerts, fencing contests or competitions for children. The village of the same name offers enough opportunities for rest and refreshment, or a pleasant walk along the shore of the village pond.

The unique Butterfly House built on the premises of the former garden greenhouses is focused on Czech butterflies. In the open-topped Butterfly House there is a mosaic of Czech biotopes with butterflies on them. In the building of the adjacent ecocentre, you can see the exhibition of butterfly photographs by Marek Vojtíšek, in the showcases there are butterfly collections borrowed from Czech museums and from entomologists. Outdoors will make you familiar with wildlife especially from the bird kingdom.

The entrance to the Gothic cellars can be found in building No. 1 on Arnošt from Pardubice Square. It is the original town hall built in the 14th century, which has always been one of the most important buildings of the city. The creation of the underground itself is not dated, it was probably set up with a defense and storage purpose, when the Gothic cellars were connected by underground corridors. Even though the ancient centre of the city is richly connected with corridors and interesting cellars, for public is currently uncovered and accessible only their parts. For all this, we can thank the enthusiasts of the Association for the Protection of Cultural and Historical Monuments of Českobrodsko (and the financial support of the town of Český Brod and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic), who, at least in the period 1991-1996, deserved to have partial access to the underground. The entrance hall of the underground route, which serves for small wedding ceremonies or similar cultural and accompanying events, is remarkably renovated. In 1996 it was included in the list of cultural monuments of the Czech Republic. Imperial and Royal Chateau Brandýs nad Labem.

An important Renaissance monument with gorgeous sgraffito - next to Prague Castle, the most significant Habsburg chateau in Bohemia. All the rulers of the Habsburg dynasty lived in the castle for six centuries. He was very fond of Emperor Rudolph II, who had his main office outside Prague. Emperor Charles VI. with the nobles came here to hunt. Maria Theresa met on Brandýs castle with her late husband, František Štěpán Lotrinský, and she went from here to Prague for the royal coronation. At the time of the Napoleonic wars, the chateau was the main residence of Emperor Franz I. In the 19th century the castle belonged to the Tuscan family of the Habsburgs and the Archduke Ludvík Salvátor, at that time an important scientist, concentrated here extensive collections of his journeys. The owner of the Brandýs castle was until 1918 the last emperor, blessed Charles I of Austria, who had lived here in his youth as an officer of the 7th Dragoon Regiment.

The City Information Center is located in the street na Hradbách in the building of a former Jewish school. Here you can visit not only the Baroque synagogue with permanent exhibition "They lived here with us", but also the lookout tower Práchovna, the old and new Jewish cemetery or the Kolín lapidarium, which is located in the cellar of the town hall. You can also book guided tours around the city. The centre also provides information about all cultural and sporting events in the city and its surroundings, offers information and promotional materials, souvenirs, public internet, pre-sale of tickets to local cultural events.and other services.

Lískovka Restaurant in Mníšek pod Brdy offers an unusual gourmet experience. The dishes are prepared in an "open" kitchen and their taste will also magnify the beautiful view of the dominant of the town. A children's menu and play area are available for children. In summer the restaurant has a spacious terrace.

Hrady CZ is a summer cultural festival, the 16th year of which will be held during the summer of 2020 on several important Czech and Moravian historical monuments. The first stop of this traveling festival will be held near the Central Bohemian castles Točník and Žebrák on 10 - 11 July 2020. Bands Divokej Bill, Škwor or Slza will perform in the two-day music program at the festival.

Camping on the bank of the river Berounka offers accommodation in cabins and own four caravans. It has capacity of 120 seats for tents and 48 seats with electrical connection for caravans. The camping is fully equipped - showers, refreshments, sportive entertainment, is open from April to October.

Accommodation with a capacity of 21 people is newly renovated. In the complex there is a newly renovated restaurant and a rich sporting activities with tennis courts, a football ground, a volleyball court and a playground for the kids with a sandpit and a slide.

The Liblice Chateau, usually called the Baroque Pearl, is located in the Liblice village in the Mělník District in the Central Bohemian Region. It is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
